Sports Day 2026 (nursery children)

Dear parents and carers

The school sports day this year will be held on Friday 19 June (weather permitting!) Nursery children who will be starting school in September will join in the running race and the egg-and-spoon race with some of the older children at the start of the afternoon’s races.

If your child attends nursery on a Friday afternoon, you are very welcome to come and watch them take part. The side gate will be opened to parents and carers at 1:15pm. The nursery’s races will be the first on the schedule, and afterwards your child will be taken back into the nursery for the rest of their session, and can be collected at 3:00pm in the normal way.

If your child does not normally attend nursery on a Friday afternoon, you can bring them to school at 1:15pm to take part in the races if you wish to. Please arrive at 1:15pm, and keep your child with you on the school field until they are called to come up to the start-line. When they have finished their races, they will be brought back to you, and you can choose whether you want to stay and watch the older children’s races or leave at that point.

Please remember that all the usual school rules apply:

• No smoking or vaping;
• No dogs;
• No mobile phones. This includes no messaging and no scrolling. If you need to use your phone urgently during the afternoon, please make your way to the school office.
• For the protection of all our children, we ask you to refrain from taking any pictures or videos during Sports Day.

If the weather forecast for 19 June is bad nearer the time, we will keep you updated.
