Dear parents and carers
I am writing to inform you that Ms Crys Poole will be leaving Minerva Primary School on 12 October 2026 to move on to pastures new. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, care and commitment she has shown throughout her time at MPS. Ms Poole has made a positive contribution to the lives of many children and families and has been a valued member of our staff team. On behalf of the staff, pupils and wider community, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and best wishes for the future.
We recognise that changes in staffing can sometimes be unsettling, particularly for our youngest children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Ensuring that children feel safe, secure and supported during periods of transition is always a priority for us. As with all transitions at MPS, we will take a carefully planned and child-centred approach to ensure continuity of care, learning and relationships.
To support this process Mrs Selwood, who currently works with the children in River Tone each Friday, will move into the class full-time. This provides an important level of consistency, as Mrs Selwood is already a familiar face to the children and families and she knows the school, routines, expectations and curriculum well.
Over the past week, Ms Poole and Mrs Selwood have been working closely together to ensure a smooth handover of information, routines and individual children’s needs. This will help provide a seamless transition and ensure that children continue to receive the high-quality care and education they deserve.
Looking ahead, the school will be advertising for an EYFS Lead to join our team. We are committed to securing the very best provision for our youngest learners and will keep families informed as the recruitment process progresses.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. I know you will join me in thanking Ms Poole for her contribution to MPS and wishing her every success and happiness in the next chapter of her career.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Gareth Nation
Principal
